Inspired by "A Room of One's Own" by Virginia Woolf

Salt gesso compound and oil paints, 18x24'' ish.

The colors look atrocious because digital camera is terrible at capturing accurate color.

good painting i like the writing on the skin. if i'm going to be a critic which i don't like to do but that one piece of yellow on the right that goes over the cloth and then into the background is a distraction. only in my view.
Awesome.

The blurs of different colors receding into the negative space and also emerging forward actually correlated to some sections of the literature where Woolfe talks about colors, subjectivity and the nature of truth. The far right one does throw it off a bit, but eh... people can take it as they will.

Thank you for the comment, I love criticism!
:aww:
This is a very beautiful piece the colours are just amazing they complement each really well.. to me they very bold and vivid and pleasing to the eyes.. i also love your character ..and the perspective you have chose as well as the position u have chosen to put her in i like the fact.. that she is the focal point and she pops out from the back ground and grabes your attention .. do to the light contrast u have use towards the much darker contrast the background .. the sheet i believe.. that is rapped around her gives much depth to the piece.. as do the exposition on her face .. and the fact that here eyes are closed.. great work and keep it u p.....:)
I'm happy you enjoyed it, and noticed all the elements you described. :D
Absolutely gorgeous, I'm glad to hear that someone else was inspired by her.
